Since November 2017 until July 2018, PICVISA has jointly developed with the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) an artificial intelligence system based on deep learning algorithms for waste sorting and recycling.

This work was developed with the support of the Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ) of the Government of Catalonia which awarded PICVISA with an R&D grant (file number BOTEC17-1-0059).

ACCIÓ's coupons for innovation represent economic support for the company and a guarantee of technical excellence, including technology centers accredited by ACCIÓ, through strategic collaborations between technology centers and the company.

For PICVISA it is an honor to be able to work together with the Center for Computer Vision (CVC), leaders in research and development in their field.

Its combined model of scientific and technological talent to favor the flow between basic research and the transfer of knowledge to society undoubtedly enrich any collaboration that PICVISA carries out.
